Selling shop tickets and lottery gift voucher in the shops

    Hi All,

    I hope you are are keeping well.

    Just a quick question I was hoping someone could help me with regarding selling Lottery single tickets and Lottery gift vouchers in the Hospice Shops.

    The issue is that at the moment our Hospice shops are able to claim back 100% VAT. If we were to sell the lottery through our shops it would be(exempt income)which we would then have to divide the exempt income. Which would effect our shops claiming back the 100% VAT.

    Has anyone else come up against this and do you do well enough selling through the Hospice shops to make it worthwhile?

    Hi Kerry,

    We sell single tickets in shops and as long as the Lottery income is kept separate to Retail income this shouldn’t affect any VAT exemption.
