I am looking for a stat that refers to the % of legacies that are left by lottery players. I believe I have seen somewhere that it is 3% but can’t find the source. Can anyone point me in the right direction please?
Hi Jackie, I am not aware of the stat that you have seen but for us, in some years, we have experienced up to 33% of the legacies we have received coming from Lottery players. However, I do think there are lots of variables from one organisation to the next that can influence this. E.g. Size of lottery, how long your lottery has been running, how well you cross promote legacy giving etc.
Hi Jackie, I can’t find the statistic however Claire House Children’s Hospice have a fantastic breakdown which I found on their website. The side by side shows an example of player’s who have joined their lottery having a living value being £3,593.66 and their legacy totalling £470,359.00. If you can’t find it, I can email you a copy 🙂
